# Tokenomics

Every kingdom needs an economy, and Meta-land is no exception. Behind the wool bundles, the race-day wagers, and the shelves of the MARD Shop sits a two-token system that ties the game world to the blockchain.

This section explains what each token does, where it comes from, and where it goes.

### **The Two-Token Model**

Sheepfarm runs on two distinct tokens, each with a deliberately separate job.

| Supply model | Dynamic — minted as rewards, removed by sinks | **Fixed** — issuance permanently closed |

A third asset, **vNGIT**, is not a tradable token but a voting credit earned by providing liquidity. It is covered on its own page.

### **Design Principles**

1. **Separation of currency and governance.** MARD carries the day-to-day economy: wool sales, betting payouts, shop purchases. NGIT carries decision-making weight. Mixing the two would mean that spending in the game costs you your voice — so we keep them apart.
2. **A closed-loop currency, not an open faucet.** MARD is not minted on a fixed schedule. Since Tokenomics v2 (December 2023), the MARD paid out to players each season is funded by what players spend in the MARD Shop during the previous season. Spending refills the pools; the pools pay the rewards. Details are on the MARD page.
3. **Fixed governance supply.** NGIT issuance ended permanently with the migration to Immutable. No new NGIT will ever be minted. Voting weight cannot be diluted by future emissions.
4. **Sinks are a feature, not a patch.** Betting, crafting, shop purchases, and the 10% burn on MARD Shop revenue all exist to pull currency back out of circulation. An economy with only faucets does not survive its first season.

### **Where Tokens Live**

Both tokens exist in two states, and moving between them is entirely your choice.

* **In-game** — held in your game account and spendable immediately on wool, tickets, items, and shop goods.
* **In your wallet** — held on Immutable zkEVM as a standard ERC-20, transferable and tradable like any other on-chain asset.

Deposits and withdrawals are handled through the **SHOP** menu on the official website.

{% hint style="info" %}
Nothing in this section is investment advice or a promise of financial return. MARD and NGIT are utility and governance tokens for a game. Their market value is set entirely by open markets and may be zero. Play because the sheep are worth racing.
